Guest House Tour

We are pleased to be an establishment approved by the English Tourism Council.

The original four-bedroom town house was built early in the second half of the 19th century on land once forming part of the Penrose Estate.  Previous owners of, what was then, No.6 Monument Road, renamed it Srathallan because they came from Strathclyde, Scotland and their family name was "Allan".

Strathallan, as it was by this time, was converted into a small Guest House in early 1981.  In 1986 a garage, a laundry and four further bedrooms were added.  Soon afterwards Room 2 became a bathroom for Room 3 and the current total of 7 letting en-suite bedrooms emerged.

In 1991 the owners added their own accommodation to the rear of the 1986 extension completing the current "tardis" seen only from the garden.

Your hosts,
Mike and Rosemary, took over in January 1997.
